I tested: Maybelline Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara
Thoughts: As the #1 favorite mascara innovator, I knew Maybelline’s vibrating mascara would be a treat to test. However I, like Eva, was a little nervous about the idea of sticking a vibrating object near my eyes. Combine that with the fact that my early morning (afternoon, and evening for that matter) reflexes are less than cat-like, I braced myself for a messy trial. Surprisingly, the low buzzing sound didn’t startle me into dropping the wand. I’m not crazy about the way the vibrations tickles my eyes, but I am crazy about the way my eyelashes looked. Seriously, dramatically long and lush! The formula contains thickening agents, emollient waxes, and film formers to make lashes look beefier than they are, while the vibrating brush works to separate them, add definition, and ensure that the product goes on evenly for a totally clump-free look. Maybelline claims that this magic wand will make your lashes appear 13 times thicker, and 75 percent longer, which after my test run and the fact that my eyelashes were literally flapping against my sunglass lenses, I can say it sounds about right.
Best For: Anyone who wants something a little more dramatic and intense! Great if mascara is the only product you like to wear. This one doesn’t add a ton of curl so you’ll want to pair it with an eyelash curler.
