Beauty Buzz. Smith's Rosebud Salve Comes Out with First New Flavor in a Century

Rosebud-salve

The classic, multi-functional rose balm that has been a cult favorite for generations is adding a new flavor to its line after more than a century. Smith's Rosebud Salve has been a go-to beauty antidote to countless women for everything from dry cuticles to chapped skin to lip gloss. Instantly recognizable from its vintage apothecary tin, the secret of the invaluable formula has been guarded for as long as the balm has existed. But secret or not, using the powdery scented, rosy-hued balm has become an almost rite of passage for beauty-minded women everywhere; and now the timeless balm collection, including other Smith's favorites like Strawberry and Mint Lip Balm, is introducing a new addition with a boost of caffeine. Smith's has just announced that starting this month, a new flavor will start appearing on shelves called Mocha Rose, a concoction infused with cocoa and coffee beans. The company claims to have taken cues from recent beauty trends such as pout-plumping products and decided to create their own, more natural version. Sources of caffeine used in the new Mocha Rose balm, the heads at Smith's said, are the same stimulants found in coffee and chocolate that restore and plump up the skin. Mocha Rose balm comes packaged in a Smith's signature tin (with a slightly modern facelift) and is currently sold at Urban Outfitters stores.
